Kathy Lien began her forex trading career more than 10 years ago at J.P. Morgan Chase. After graduating from New York University's Leonard Stern School of Business at the age of 18, Kathy joined the bank's interbank forex trading desk and eventually moved to JPMorgan's cross markets proprietary trading desk.
In the interbank market, her ability to create solid fundamental and technical analysis from the innumerable amounts of information on the markets helped her trade forex spot and options. Her experience eventually led her to be chief strategist at DailyFX where she worked until she joined the pioneering forex company, www.gft.com.au
With her knowledge of forex and experience trading other financial markets - such as interest rate derivatives, bonds, equities, and futures - Lien is a popular international currency analyst.
She has guest hosted on Sky News and CNBC Squawk Box Australia, is frequently quoted on Channel News Asia, Bloomberg and Reuters, as well as other popular financial publications such as the Wall Street Journal and the Australian Financial Review. Lien has also written for publications like the Australian, Wealth Creator, Futures, City AM, and the Edge (Singapore).
She is the author of one of the biggest selling FX Books in the world, Day Trading the Currency Market: Technical and Fundamental Strategies to Profit from Market Moves, and the co-author of Millionaire Traders: How Everyday People Are Beating Wall Street at Its Own Game with Boris Schlossberg.
