Ergon Energy


Ergon Energy is a Queensland Government Owned Corporation with assets of $8 billion and over 4,500 employees. Ergon's distribution network covers a massive 1.7 million square kilometers and provides power to approximately 650,000 homes and businesses across regional and rural Queensland.


Ergon Energy's electricity network consists of approximately 150,000 kilometres of powerlines and one million power poles. Ergon also owns and operates 33 stand-alone power stations that power isolated communities across Queensland that are not connected to the main electricity grid.


Whilst Full Retail Competition was introduced into Queensland from July 2007, Ergon Energy remains the only retailer in rural and regional Qld.
